I thought I'd do a post to show my appreciation to these summer beauty heroes. These products have travelled with me to Turkey, and back again. They really are the sort of products I would take to a "desert island" - if I had to pick beauty products as well as food and comfort items. Because well, I'd probably be quite happy to go make-up free on the island.
Okay, so the Tangle Teezer was probably the best hair discovery I have ever made. Having bleached hair and a tendency to avoid the hairdressers, my hair quite tangly and a real fight to brush after a shower. I used to dread brushing my hair and just leave it wrapped in a turban for hours before I would finally "brave it." One day I just suddenly decided I had to have a Tangle Teezer and I think that was a great impulse decision. It just glides straight through. It is amazing. My hair brush has practically been made redundant. Great for after showers, swimming and beaches.
John Frieda frizzease is pretty fab too. This came in my You Beauty box a few months ago. I always put it on when I have wet hair, after brushing it (with my tangle teezer of course) and I don't really know what it does but it makes my hair look a lot nicer.
My next favourite is the Avon Glow Bronzer and illuminator 2in1/duo. I was never sure if I liked illuminators because I thought "why after you've powdered would you want to make yourself look shiny again?" But I ended up trying it and I get it now! It just somehow makes me look more "alive" and awake. I've been loving the iridescent look all summer. I really like this one because it is a powder rather than liquid illuminator so I don't have to worry about looking shiny. This is my second one because I ran down the whole illuminator side in my last one. So it is definitely a product worth buying and repeat buying. Although, the bronzer side isn't fab as I got the light which doesn't really show up. But it is worth buying, just for the illuminator side.
Another Avon product... Glimmersticks brow definer in dark brown. I have been loving this for filling in my brows. It is easy to apply and there's no need to sharpen it. I have ordered another. I think I would freak if I ran out of this or it was discontinued.
Models Own Ultra Waterproof mascara is the only "waterproof" mascara I have ever found that is actually waterproof. I have worn this for swimming on holiday, waterparks, in the rain, on hot sweaty days. I am pretty confident that you could swim the english channel in this mascara and it wouldn't smudge. A truly reliable waterproof mascara. I have also found that you can use it over your normal mascara to create like a waterproof coat on your everyday mascara. So you can just use it like a top coat on your fave mascara to get waterproof lashes without sacrificing on looks.
In Summer, I don't really like wearing heavy make up on my skin because it makes me more shiny and feels heavy and hot on my face. Loreal Paris Nude Magique Eau de teint gives me the appearance of a good base but it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing make up. It's super easy to apply with fingers and only needs a tiny bit. It just sinks in like water. I put on my old foundation the other day (Rimmel Wake me up) and I was just like eew this feels so horrid on my skin. So if you want to not feel like you're wearing foundation but you want to confidence of wearing foundation - this is fab. The bottle is really cute too.
Nearly there - promise! Mac eye shadow in Expensive Pink has been my go to daily eye shadow. It just has this gorgeous shimmery bronze shade. Great for all over the lid or to apply like an eye liner. You can see how much I have used it from how warn out it is. It's a great staple for a shimmery bronze summer make up look (and all year round too!)
Of course with all that sun bathing, it's important to look after our skin. I just picked this M&S Mango body butter one day. It smells divine. Such a gorgeous mango smell. MMMmmm. I've nearly used the whole tub in less than a month.
Talking of great smelling products... Ted Baker miniture body spray (£2.50) Smells laavely. For you know, those hot sweaty days when you convince yourself that you smell. It's a good product to carry round in your bag. I even took it in my hand luggage on the plane.
FINALLYYYY - MUA lipstick shade 14. This £1 bargain is in a pretty pale nude shade. As you know I love a nude lipstick. And I love this one even more because it was only a pound.
Let's have a "share of our favourite Summer products" in the comments. Tell me what I should be buying for next Summer! Remember to like and follow on Bloglovin if you liked this post. Thank you for reading :)
