Our idea to go to Virginia waters spontaneously, on the sunny bank holiday Monday, clearly wasn't as original as we thought, judging by the queues to get in the carparks. It seems like everyone - and I mean everyone - seemed to have exactly the same idea for a cheap day out on the first properly sunny day of the year. We ended up on the Savill Gardens side rather than the waterfall side so unfortunately I don't have any beautiful waterfall photos for you. But, Savill Gardens had a super tall totem pole on offer for photo opportunities, a lake and all different types of blossom which just reminded me of Cinderella for some reason.
We had a little picnic in a quieter area that we found away from the path. A rather random selection of everything we could find in Morrisons that we fancied. We had chicken from the deli counter, cheese straws, pringles, and the best salted caramel and chocolate cookies *if I could put emojis the 'ok' emoji would be going right here*.
After our feast we headed on a walk with the dogs. I personally just loved strolling around looking at the blossom and taking photos. Although it was really busy, it was a really nice afternoon. I can feel the freckles coming out already and I think I even got a bit sunburnt - yes it really doesn't take much.
Hope you all had a lovely Easter bank holiday weekend! Until next time,
Ells x
