Spring Makeup mini Haul
I made a few, much need, makeup purchases as I always like to refresh my make up bag in the Spring. Firstly, I got the Mac paintpot in soft ochre, I am planning on using this as an eye primer as it is such a light skin-like colour that I will be able to build on with eye shadow. I saw this on Gabby's Youtube channel Velvetgh0st, as she uses the paintpot in the shade 'Painterly' as a primer. I settled on this, as they were sold out of Painterly and I was desperate. It is more yellow toned wheras painterly is more pink toned, but I would have been happy with either as they would make a good base for my pale skin. I may also just use it alone, as a subtle wash of colour on the lid, on days when I can't be bothered. It seems like it will be quite brightening, so I will let you know how I get on with that.
Then I got a few bits from Boots and Superdrug as they seem to be doing good offers like 3 for 2 at the moment which always helps tempt me. I got the bourjois eyeshadow stick, it swatched a beautiful wet look peachy pink colour. I have found it doesn't look quite the same on the eye, as it comes out slightly lighter. But it is quite fresh and spring-y so by no means a disappointment. Next, I got the L'oreal BB universal creme blush which I just find the coolest thing ever to be honest. It comes out a clear gel and on contact with skin turns pink! So cool. I am learning to put it on without overpowering as you need the tiniest bit. But I am really loving this so far.
I also purchased the Seventeen Instant glow shimmer block, which instantly reminded me of the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick. I swatched each colour indivually and decided that they would make nice shimmery eyeshadows, as well as a bronzer/highlighter combo when swirled together. And at £4.99 it was definitely a more economical option than Bobbi Brown, so obviously I had to buy.
After many reccomendations from you guys and Youtubers alike, I finally own a Maybelline Anti-age eraser eye bag concealer. I couldn't find these anywhere in the shops so I ordered one for myself and my Mum to try. We have both been loving this so far, compared to our yves saint laurent touche eclait which we have used previously for our under-eye area, this is a hands down winner on the eye bag front. The colour just somehow combats the under eye darkness that I get and wow it's just magic, I swear.
So that's the end of my mini haul which actually ended up fairly big in the end! Let me know what you guys have been buying this month from the drugstore and if there are any other miracle products that I need to know about. Please give this post a like if you liked it.
Thank you for reading,
Ells xx
