May Favourites

Yes, it's that time again! May has flown by, even though I say that every single month. We've had some warmer weather with a mix of crazy rainstorms in the UK so that might slightly explain the mixture in products this month. But as always, I am just going to get straight on and talk about the things that I've been loving this month.

My first beauty favourite is the Collection quad palette, which is something I've had for years. I'm sure that I have spoken about it before but I have rediscovered it this month and been using it to create a really subtle eye make up look. I first use the peachy shade all over my lid then use the darker shade in the crease and outer corners. Next, I've rediscovered my MUA bronzer. I don't usually wear bronzer unless it's summer except for subtle contouring but I think that it's the right time of year now to go in with the bronzer for some added colour. I apply this on a fairly big fluffy brush on my cheeks and temples for some added colour, I also sometimes use it instead of a blusher as I just think it's more summery and because I can. You can tell how much I love both of these by the fact that I've hit pan on them, I would definitely recommend these two products if you are just starting out with makeup as they're affordable and you can create so many different day time looks with them.

My next favourite is more of a skincare favourite: the Garnier Micellar Water. I bought this last year and completely hated it, I found it difficult to get my eye make up off with it and it just kind of smeared all my mascara all over my face. But I saw on a Youtube video (I'm so sorry I can't remember who's) somebody saying that they put it on a cotton pad and hold it on their eyes for a bit to dissolve/melt the makeup (whatever it does - I'm not very technical.) So I randomly decided to try it again, using this technique and it is so much better plus I feel really good using it because it's so much better for my skin than facewipes so win win.

I promise that not everything in this May favourites video is rediscovered! I have also found some new beauty products that I've been loving this month. Firsty the Loreal BB universal Blush which is just so cool and blows my mind every time I use it. It's a cream/gel blush that comes out clear and turns pink on contact with skin (that's the bit that blows my mind.) You only need the tiniest amount, I squeeze it on to my hand first then apply gently in a dabbing motion with my stippled brush. It just has a fresh dewy look which is just so refreshing and natural for a blush - LOVE IT. Then you probably already know how amazing Rimmel Stay matte powder is but I've finally jumped on the bandwagon with it. I won't talk too much about it but it is definitely worth the hype and I prefer it to my Mac translucent powder.

The next new discovery that has made it into my favourites this month is the new release St Tropez in shower gradual tan. When my Mum and I heard about this product we were so excited we signed up to a waiting list to get it... We just thought it sounded revolutionary - well I did, Mum was a bit more skeptical about whether it would streak or make your palms orange. But we've got it now and we both really like it. It's quite light and subtle, which is great for me because I'm quite pale anyway so need something that I can build up gradually. We've both used it a few times so far and had no disasters, it seems way too easy for a fake tan but we aren't complaining.

I feel like I'm getting carried away now and just seem to be doing shout outs to my favourite products. But if I'm going to be doing that then I just want to give a shout out to banana boat Aloe Vera after sun. I got quite badly burnt this week - I know shame on me for not putting on suncream.. But it was England in my defence so I didn't expect it to be that bad. But when you do get burnt and it's hot and sore, honestly go and buy this because it is just so cooling and soothing oh my. So if you are off on holiday or going to be in the Sun, this is a definite sunburn saviour.

Now for my random favorourite of the month...
This month I loved Pitch Perfect 2. I feel like I've waited years for this since we saw the first one the Christmas that we left school, which feels decades ago. I saw it the weekend it was released, with my friends and we just laughed all the way through. It was definitely worth the wait, it is just such a feel good film - perfect during exam season. I'm not sure if I should admit this or not but we have all come away and been playing the soundtrack on Spotify non-stop since we saw it. If I had more time and the cinema didn't cost so much money, I would definitely go and see this again and again. I can't wait for the DVD already..

Okay so that's everything, I'm sorry that this has been such a wordy post I just wanted to make sure that I got everything in. If you liked it please give it a like and follow me on Bloglovin. Thank You for reading. Happy Sunday & hope your exams are going well - to those of you who have exams.

Ells xx
